Ferbey finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ferbey lost 7-5 to Bucholz, then responded with a 9-0 win over Fukuhiro Ohno (Kariuzawa, JPN). Ferbey won 6-4 against Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB), then won 6-3 against Dean Ross (Calgary, AB) and 7-6 against Tom Appelman (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the The Shoot-Out Championship title, Ferbey earned 16.000 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 7 spots the World Ranking Standings into 19th place overall with 65.921 total points.
