Laycock lost 6-5 to Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI) where Laycock responded with a 6-3 win over Glen Kennedy (Edmonton, AB). Laycock won 6-4 against Matt Willerton (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
