In their opening game, Birr defeated Eric Fenson (Bemidji, MN) 4-3, then won 5-2 against Adam Kitchens (Devils Lake, ND) and 6-5 against Minnesota's John Shuster. Birr went on to lose 6-3 against Northern Ontario's Jeff Currie. Birr responded with a 6-2 win over Randy Cumming (Mankato, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Birr earned 1.350 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the St. Paul Cash Spiel, remaining in 57th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 27.925 total points. Birr ranks 52nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 7.425 points earned so far this season.
