In their opening game, George defeated Dan Ruehl (Plymouth, MN) 9-0, then won 6-4 against Philip DeVore (Duluth, MN) and 7-3 against Minnesota's Josh Bahr. George won 7-5 against Joe Scharf (Thunder Bay, ON), then won 7-1 against Minnesota's Peter Stolt in their final qualifying round match.
