Murphy finished 5-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murphy lost 9-5 to Kent Smith (Halifax, NS), then responded with a 9-4 win over Dacey. Murphy won 6-5 against Ian Juurlink (Halifax, NS), then won 9-5 against Chad Stevens (Chester, NS) and 7-2 against Brent MacDougall (Halifax, NS). Murphy went on to lose 6-5 against Ian Fitzner-Leblanc (Halifax, NS). Murphy responded with a 7-3 win over Peter Burgess (Truro, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the NS Molson Tankard Championship title, Murphy earned 4.000 world rankings points, moving up 46 spots the World Ranking Standings into 147th place overall with 9.210 total points. Murphy ranks 145th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 4.750 points earned so far this season.
