In their opening game, Ontario's Rob Rumfeldt defeated Darryl Prebble (Toronto, ON) 6-5, then won 4-1 against Ben Bevan (Ajax, ON) and 5-4 against Dayna Deruelle (Brampton, ON). Ontario's Rob Rumfeldt won 7-5 against Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
