To advance to the championship game, Sweden's Oskar Eriksson won 7-1 over Mark Dacey (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2012 Swiss Cup Basel in Basel, Switzerland; and won 8-5 over Mario Freiberger (Zug, SUI) in the quarterfinals.
 
Sweden's Oskar Eriksson finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sweden's Oskar Eriksson defeated Alexander Attinger (Dübendorf, SUI) 7-4, then won 8-3 against Italy's Marco Pascale and 11-7 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). Sweden's Oskar Eriksson won 5-2 against Jiri Snitil (Brno, CZE) in their final qualifying round match.
