In their opening game, Pierce defeated David Murdoch (Stirling, SCO) 5-4, then went on to lose 4-3 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Pierce lost 5-4 to Andrew Bilesky (New Westminster, BC). Pierce lost 7-4 to Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
