Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) qualified for the 2013 Cactus Pheasant Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 8-6 against Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB). of the 2013 Cactus Pheasant Classic in Brooks, Alberta;

Laycock finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Laycock defeated Dean Joanisse (New Westminster, BC) 8-6, then won 4-2 against Korea's Soo-Hyuk Kim and 5-3 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
