Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) lost 5-3 to Eve Muirhead (Stirling, SCO) in the Final of the Canadian Open, held December 9 - 14, 2014 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. To advance to the championship game, Homan won 4-3 over Heather Nedohin (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2014 Canadian Open in Yorkton, Saskatchewan; and won 7-3 over Binia Feltscher (Flims, SUI) in the quarterfinals.
 
Homan finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan defeated Amber Holland (Regina, SK) 9-2, then won 8-1 against Julie Hastings (Thornhill, ON) and 8-7 against Kristy McDonald (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Canadian Open, Homan take home 27.000 world rankings points along with the $14,000CDN prize, dropping 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 3rd place overall with 333.187 total points. Homan ranks 4th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 126.821 points earned so far this season.
