Tomi Rantamaki (Hyvinkaa, FIN) qualified for the 2014 Edinburgh International playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-6 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED). of the 2014 Edinburgh International in Edinburgh, Scotland, Scotland;

Rantamaki finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Rantamaki defeated Scotland's Stuart Taylor 7-3, then won 1-0 against 's TBD2. Rantamaki went on to lose 9-4 against Martin Lill (Tallinn, EST). Rantamaki responded with a 6-5 win over Poland's Borys Jasieki.
