Hemmings finished 3-1 in the 21-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hemmings defeated Chenhao Liu (Shanghai, CHN) 5-2, then went on to lose 4-2 against New York's Brandon Corbett. Hemmings responded with a 7-4 win over Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON). Hemmings won 6-3 against Rob Retchless (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
