In their opening game, McCormick defeated Darryl Sobering (Denver, CO) 6-5, then won 10-5 against John Lilla (St Paul, MN, MN) and 6-3 against Stephen Dropkin (Minneapolis, MN). McCormick won 6-2 against Brandon Scheel (Fargo, ND) in their final qualifying round match.
