To advance to the championship game, Carruthers won 6-4 over Dennis Bohn (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2015 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada; and won 6-5 over Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2015 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada;
 
Carruthers finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carruthers defeated Bohn 6-1, then went on to lose 7-1 against Richard Muntain (Pinawa, MB). Carruthers responded with a 6-5 win over Gustav Eskilsson (Skellefte�, SWE). Carruthers won 6-0 against Rob Atkins (Winnipeg, MB), then won 6-4 against Josh Heidt (Kerrobert, SK) and 6-2 against Mark Kean (Stoney Creek, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the DEKALB Superspiel Championship title, Carruthers earned 46.623 world rankings points along with the $10,500CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 4th place overall with 615.921 total points. Carruthers ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 331.461 points earned so far this season.
