Laycock went on to lose 7-6 against Mike Kennedy (Moncton, NB). Laycock responded with a 5-4 win over Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT). Laycock went on to lose 6-5 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Laycock responded with a 7-4 win over Glenn Howard (Toronto, ON). Laycock went on to lose 7-5 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Laycock earned 15.835 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 30 of the event schedule, Laycock did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 7th place on the World Ranking Standings with 608.834 total points.
