Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) lost 9-5 to Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the Tim Hortons Brier, held March 5 - 13, 2016 in Ottawa, Ontario.
 
Gushue finished 9-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) 5-4, then went on to lose 4-3 against Glenn Howard (Toronto, ON). Gushue responded with a 6-3 win over Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT). Gushue won 7-5 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK), then won 7-4 against Mike Kennedy (Moncton, NB) and 4-3 against Koe. Gushue won 7-3 against Pat Simmons (Calgary, CAN), then won 7-6 against Jean-Michel Menard (Gatineau, QC) and 8-7 against Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC). Gushue won 11-7 against Adam Casey (Summerside, PEI). Gushue went on to lose 4-1 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Tim Hortons Brier, Gushue take home 69.676 world rankings points, remaining in 2nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 33.935 after improving upon their best so far this season. Gushue ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 502.398 points earned so far this season.
