William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB) lost 9-4 to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the DEKALB Superspiel, held November 18 - 21, 2016 at the Morris Curling Club in Morris, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Lyburn won 8-4 over Gustav Eskilsson (Skellefteï¿½, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2016 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada; and won 6-1 over Dennis Bohn (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals.

Lyburn finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lyburn defeated Darryl Horsman (Tempe, AZ) 8-2, then won 6-5 against Taylor McIntyre (Winnipeg, MB) and 4-2 against Eskilsson. Lyburn won 6-4 against McEwen in their final qualifying round match.
