Fournier finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fournier defeated Chris Gardner (Ottawa, ON) 5-2, then won 4-3 against Jean-Sebastien Roy (Thurso, QC) and 8-3 against Kurtis Byrd (Kingston, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
