Yannick Martel (Kenogami, QC) 8-2, then won 7-2 against Ritchie Gillan (Ottawa, ON). Deruelle went on to lose 8-7 against Sebastien Robillard (Ottawa, ON). Deruelle lost 5-4 to Michael Fournier (Montreal, QC) where Deruelle responded with a 7-6 win over Rui Liu (HARBIN, CHN). Deruelle won 8-4 against Heath McCormick (Blaine, USA). Deruelle went on to lose 5-3 against Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Deruelle earned 4.191 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 37th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 128.071 total points. Deruelle ranks 43rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 38.372 points earned so far this season.
