To advance to the championship game, Mouat won 6-5 over Northern Ontario's Tanner Horgan in the semifinals of the 2017 Stu Sells Oakville Tankard in Oakville, Ontario, Canada; and won 8-3 over Kyle Smith (Perth, SCO) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Stu Sells Oakville Tankard in Oakville, Ontario, Canada;
 
Mouat finished 4-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mouat defeated Rob Ainsley (Toronto, ON) 6-4, then won 7-2 against Scotland's Greg Drummond and 7-6 against Northern Ontario's Tanner Horgan. Mouat won 4-3 against Brady Clark (Seattle, WA) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Stu Sells Oakville Tankard Championship title, Mouat earned 46.857 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 4 of the event schedule, Mouat did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Mouat ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
