In their opening game, McCormick defeated Darryl Horsman (Phoenix, AZ) 5-3, then won 7-5 against Bill Stopera (New York, NY) and 8-3 against Scott Dunnam (Minneapolis, MN). McCormick won 5-0 against Josh Moore (Mapleton, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
