To advance to the championship game, Fujisawa won 6-5 over Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2017 Karuizawa International in Karuizawa, Japan; and won 6-5 over Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Karuizawa International in Karuizawa, Japan;
 
Fujisawa finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fujisawa lost 6-4 to Anna Sidorova (Moscow, RUS), then responded with a 5-3 win over Mone Ryokawa (Karuizawa, JPN). Fujisawa won 7-2 against Sue Yoen Kang (Seoul, KOR). Fujisawa went on to lose 7-2 against Hasselborg in their final qualifying round match.
