Dayna Deruelle (Kingston, ON) lost 6-4 to Wayne Tuck Jr. (Brantford, ON) in the Final of the Port Elgin Superspiel, held November 17 - 19, 2017 at the Port Elgin Curling Club in Port Elgin, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Deruelle won 5-4 over Richard Krell (Kitchener-Waterloo, ON) in the semifinals of the 2017 Port Elgin Superspiel in Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada; and won 5-3 over Connor Duhaime (Barrie, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Port Elgin Superspiel in Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada;
 
Deruelle finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Deruelle defeated Rob Ainsley (Toronto, ON) 4-3, then won 6-5 against Brent Ross (Harriston, ON). Deruelle went on to lose 7-5 against Tuck Jr.. Deruelle responded with a 6-4 win over Daryl Shane (Listowel, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Port Elgin Superspiel, Deruelle take home 15.529 world rankings points along with the $2,500CDN prize, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 31st place overall with 189.105 total points. Deruelle ranks 50th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 49.375 points earned so far this season.
