Schwaller finished 4-1 in the 26-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schwaller defeated Alexey Timofeev (St. Petersburg, RUS) 4-1, then won 9-5 against Tuck Jr. to advance to a A-Qualifier game where they lost 7-4 against John Epping (Toronto, ON). Schwaller responded with a 9-1 win over Andrew Stopera (Chaska, USA) to advance to the B-Qualifier where they 10-0 against Jordan Chandler (Sudbury, NONT) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Stu Sells Oakville Tankard Championship title, Schwaller earned 51.858 world rankings points along with the $7,500CDN first prize cheque.
