Glen Muirhead (Perth, SCO) qualified for the 2018 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-4 against Kirk Muyres (Saskatoon, SK). of the 2018 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 in Thunder Bay, Ontario;

Muirhead finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Muirhead defeated Andrew Stopera (Chaska, USA) 4-3, then went on to lose 5-4 against Charley Thomas (Toronto, ON). Muirhead responded with a 8-1 win over Dennis Bohn (Winnipeg, MB). Muirhead went on to lose 6-5 against Tanner Horgan (Sudbury, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.

Muirhead earned 18.600 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2, remaining in 22nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 175.367 total points. Muirhead ranks 39th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 56.189 points earned so far this season.
