Rick Rowsell (St. John's, NL) qualified for the 2018 WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-3 against James Grattan (Oromocto, NB). of the 2018 WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada;

Rowsell finished 4-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Rowsell lost 9-1 to Chase Sinnett (Chaska, USA), then responded with a 9-1 win over Grattan. Rowsell won 7-5 against Scott Jones (Moncton, NB), then won 7-4 against Ed Cyr (Fredericton, NB) and 8-2 against Stuart Thompson (Dartmouth, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
