Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR) finished 5-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walstad defeated Jia Liang Zang (Harbin, CHN) 4-2, then went on to lose 8-5 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Walstad responded with a 9-1 win over Rich Ruohonen (Chaska, USA). Walstad won 7-3 against Zang, then won 10-3 against Edin and 9-3 against Ruohonen in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Curling World Cup Suzhou, Walstad take home 46.252 world rankings points along with the $22,812CDN prize, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 10th place overall with 302.530 total points. Walstad ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 75.657 points earned so far this season.
