Stevens finished 4-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stevens defeated Blair Pettipas (Halifax, NS) 9-3, then won 7-5 against Alan O'Leary (Dartmouth, NS) and 4-2 against Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS). Stevens went on to lose 6-5 against Brent MacDougall (Halifax, NS). Stevens responded with a 9-1 win over Graeme Weagle (Chester, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
