Retornaz won 6-5 against Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI), then won 6-4 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED). Retornaz went on to lose 7-4 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Retornaz lost 9-5 to Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
