Jie Mei (Beijing, CHN) finished 4-3 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mei defeated Madeleine Dupont (Hvidovre, DEN) 9-7, then went on to lose 6-5 against Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB). Mei responded with a 7-2 win over Sophie Jackson (Stirling, SCO). Mei won 11-2 against Annmarie Dubberstein (Chaska, USA). Mei went on to lose 7-2 against Ursi Hegner (Uzwil, SUI). Mei lost 6-2 to Alina Kovaleva (Saint-Petersburg, RUS) where Mei responded with a 9-3 win over Daniela Jentsch (Fuessen, GER) in their final qualifying round match.

Mei earned 13.838 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the China Open. Mei move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 7.041 points improving upon their best 4 results so far this season, ranking 40th overall with 96.111 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Mei ranks 41st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 41.734 points earned so far this season.
