In their opening game, Leclair defeated Douglas Sturlaugson (Bismarck, ND) 7-6, then went on to lose 7-5 against Geoff Goodland (Eau Claire, WI). Leclair responded with a 9-5 win over Mark Tolvstad (Mellette, SD). Leclair went on to lose 9-4 against Dwayne Jacobson (Junction City, WI). Leclair responded with a 9-1 win over Keith Stauber (Duluth, MN). Leclair went on to lose 8-5 against Doug Cameron (Duluth, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
