Jie Mei (Beijing, CHN) lost 6-3 to Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) in the Final of the ADVICS Cup, held August 9 - 12, 2019 in Kitami, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Mei won 6-5 over Seina Nakajima (Nagano, JPN) in the semifinals

Mei finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mei lost 9-7 to Fujisawa, then responded with a 9-3 win over Tori Koana (Yamanashi, JPN). Mei won 8-2 against Misaki Tanaka (Aomori, JPN), then won 9-5 against Mizuki Hara (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the ADVICS Cup, Mei take home 29.494 world rankings points along with the $6,248CDN prize, moving up 6 spots the World Ranking Standings into 14th place overall with 210.695 total points. Mei ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 56.148 points earned so far this season.
