Hartung finished 4-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hartung lost 5-4 to Brett Walter (Winnipeg, MB), then responded with a 10-0 win over Jacques Gauthier (Winnipeg , MB). Hartung won 3-1 against Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB), then won 6-2 against Jake Horgan (Sudbury, NONT) to advance to a B-Qualifier game where they lost 8-5 against Minnesota's Jed Brundidge to drop into a C-Qualifier game where they responded with a 7-2 win over Luc Violette (Lake Stevens, WA) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
