Birr finished 3-1 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Birr defeated Jason Smith (Blaine, MN) 9-2, then won 8-2 against Samuel Clasen (St. Paul, MN) and 8-1 against Brandon Corbett (Rochester, NY). Birr went on to lose 5-4 against Dominik Maerki (Chaska, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
