Strelkova/Zhukovsky Reaches 2019 International Mixed Doubles Sochi Quarters

Ksenia Strelkova/Roman Zhukovsky (Moscow, RUS) qualified for the 2019 International Mixed Doubles Sochi playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 9-4 against Hungary's Ildiko Szekeres/Gyorgy Nagy.

Strelkova/Zhukovsky finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Strelkova/Zhukovsky defeated Switzerland's Daniela Rupp/Kevin Wunderlin 8-5, then won 7-5 against Aleksandra Kardapoltseva/Mikhail Vaskov (Dmitrov, RUS) and 10-7 against Anna Venevtseva/Vasiliy Groshev (Krasnoyarsk, RUS). Strelkova/Zhukovsky won 7-2 against Lidia Sanchirova/Evgeny Sokolov (Novosibirsk, RUS). Strelkova/Zhukovsky went on to lose 8-3 against Alina Fakhurtdinova/Nikolay Lysakov (Irkutsk, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.

Strelkova/Zhukovsky earned 14.397 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the International Mixed Doubles Sochi, remaining in 668th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 14.396 after improving upon their best so far this season. Strelkova/Zhukovsky ranks 71st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 14.396 points earned so far this season.
