Cotter/Cotter went on to lose 9-4 against Lisa Weagle/John Epping (Toronto, ON). Cotter/Cotter responded with a 10-9 win over Catherine Liscumb/Chris Liscumb (Ilderton, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Cotter/Cotter earned 5.276 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 778th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 0.728 after improving upon their best so far this season.
