Howard finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Howard defeated Jason Montgomery (Victoria, BC) 9-1, then won 9-4 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT) and 5-3 against Cameron de Jong (Victoria, BC). Howard won 4-2 against Tyler Tardi (Langley, BC). Howard went on to lose 7-4 against Paul Cseke (Kelowna, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
