In their opening game, Kent lost 6-2 to Rob Nobert (Vernon, BC), droppimg another game, 7-1 to Sebastien Robillard (New Westminster, BC) where Kent responded with a 7-3 win over Todd Pellerin (Kimberley, BC). Kent went on to lose 7-2 against Neil Dangerfield (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Kent earned 0.761 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 16 spots the World Ranking Standings into 249th place overall with 3.051 total points. Kent ranks 135th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 0.761 points earned so far this season.
