In their opening game, Kim defeated Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) 8-6, then went on to lose 8-3 against Jeremy Harty (Calgary, AB). Kim lost 7-2 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) where Kim responded with a 8-1 win over Wes Craig (Victoria, BC). Kim won 4-3 against Jared St. John (Penticton, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

The berth into the first round of the Nufloors Penticton Curling Classic playoffs earned Kim 9.281 world rankings points, remaining in 38th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 2.697 after improving upon their best so far this season. Kim ranks 43rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 25.397 points earned so far this season.
