To advance to the championship game, Kapp won 8-5 over Owen Purcell (Upper Tantallon, CAN) in the semifinals of the 2022 World Junior Curling Championships in Jonkoping, Sweden;

Kapp finished 7-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kapp defeated Giacomo Colli (Trentino, ITA) 6-2, then won 7-2 against Purcell and 8-3 against Axel Landelius (Mjolby, SWE). Kapp went on to lose 6-4 against Craik. Kapp responded with a 8-3 win over Daniel Casper (Chaska, USA). Kapp won 7-3 against JaeBeom Lee (Gyeongsan, KOR), then won 9-1 against Kim Schwaller (Bern, SUI) and 13-6 against William Becker (Naseby, NZL). Kapp went on to lose 7-6 against Lukas Hostmaelingen (Lillehammer, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.
