James Craik (Stirling, SCO) won 7-1 over Benny Kapp (Fuessen, GER) in the Final of the World Junior Curling Championships, held May 15 - 22, 2022 in Jonkoping, Sweden. To advance to the championship game, Craik won 7-5 over Lukas Hostmaelingen (Lillehammer, NOR) in the semifinals
 
Craik finished 8-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Craik defeated JaeBeom Lee (Gyeongsan, KOR) 8-5, then won 9-1 against Daniel Casper (Chaska, USA) and 10-5 against William Becker (Naseby, NZL). Craik won 6-4 against Kapp, then won 10-3 against Giacomo Colli (Trentino, ITA). Craik went on to lose 7-6 against Owen Purcell (Upper Tantallon, CAN). Craik responded with a 9-2 win over Hostmaelingen. Craik won 11-4 against Axel Landelius (Mjolby, SWE), then won 8-5 against Kim Schwaller (Bern, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the World Junior Curling Championships Championship title, Craik earned 30.566 world rankings points. Craik move up 24 spots after posting a net gain of 27.895 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 40th overall with 85.854 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Craik ranks 40th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 85.854 points earned so far this season.
