To advance to the championship game, MacDonald won 11-4 over Stefania Constantini (Trentino, ITA) in the semifinals of the 2021 WCT Latvia International Challenger in Tukums, Latvia; and won 6-4 over Emma Moberg (Stockholm, SWE) in the quarterfinals. of the 2021 WCT Latvia International Challenger in Tukums, Latvia;
MacDonald finished 4-1 in the 17-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, MacDonald defeated Santa Blumberga (Riga, LAT) 8-4, then went on to lose 9-3 against Lithuania's Virginija Paulauskaite.
