Muirhead finished 3-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Muirhead defeated Gina Aitken (Stirling, UK) 10-2, then won 6-5 against Raphaela Keiser (St. Moritz, SUI). Muirhead went on to lose 5-3 against Tirinzoni. Muirhead responded with a 7-1 win over Liisa Turmann (Tallinn, EST) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the The Challenger Championship title, Muirhead earned 36.045 world rankings points along with the $2,458CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 9th place overall with 178.037 total points. Muirhead ranks 10th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 36.045 points earned so far this season.
