Junpei Kanda (Tokyo, JPN) won 4-3 over Kota Onodera (Tokyo, JPN) in the Final of the Kanto Curling Championships, held January 14 - 16, 2022 in Kanto, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Kanda won 9-3 over Ryo Ogihara (Tokyo, JPN) in the semifinals
 
Kanda finished 3-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kanda defeated Onodera 12-4, then won 7-3 against Kenji Komoda (Chiba, JPN) and 8-3 against Taikan Mutoh (Yamanashi, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Kanto Curling Championships Championship title, Kanda earned 4.500 world rankings points, moving up 50 spots the World Ranking Standings into 201st place overall with 9.540 total points. Kanda ranks 222nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 4.500 points earned so far this season.
