Mackey went on to lose 7-1 against Alan O'Leary (Dartmouth, NS). Mackey responded with a 4-3 win over Glen Hudy (Yellowknife, NT). Mackey went on to lose 7-1 against Randy Neufeld (La Salle, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
