To advance to the championship game, Kitazawa won 8-1 over Jessie Hunkin (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2022 Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada; and won 7-6 over Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2022 Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada;

Kitazawa finished 3-1 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kitazawa defeated Sarah Wark (Abbotsford, BC) 11-1, then won 11-0 against Kaila Buchy (Kelowna, BC). Kitazawa went on to lose 7-6 against Brown. Kitazawa responded with a 6-5 win over Lisa Parent (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic, Kitazawa take home 19.250 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN prize. For week 9 of the event schedule, Kitazawa did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 24th to 25th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 105.330 total points. Kitazawa ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 56.250 points earned so far this season.
