Woojin Yang (Uijeongbu, KOR) finished 2-5 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yang lost 6-3 to ByeongJin Jeong (Seoul, KOR), then responded with a 8-3 win over Junhwa Lee (Uiseong, KOR). Yang went on to lose 13-3 against Chang-Min Kim (Gyeongbuk, KOR). Yang lost 8-2 to Yeongseok Jeong (Gangwo, KOR). Yang lost 6-4 to Jeongmin Kim (Gyeonggido, KOR) where Yang responded with a 11-4 win over Minjun Kang (Seoul, KOR). Yang went on to lose 6-2 against JaeBeom Lee (Kyungil, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.

Yang earned 1.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 1 of the event schedule, Yang did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Yang ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
