Whyte finished 4-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Whyte defeated Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) 9-4, then won 7-6 against Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON) and 7-3 against Michael Fournier (Toronto, ON). Whyte won 8-2 against Sam Steep (Kitchener-Waterloo, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Stu Sells Oakville Tankard, Whyte take home 30.250 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN prize, remaining in 9th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 4.75 after improving upon their best so far this season. Whyte ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 63.250 points earned so far this season.
