In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Jared Kolomaya (Richmond, BC) 6-3, then won 8-5 against Marco Hoesli (Glarus, SUI). Sturmay went on to lose 6-1 against Brendan Bottcher (Calgary, AB). Sturmay responded with a 5-1 win over Sebastien Robillard (Langley, BC). Sturmay won 7-1 against Chris Jones (Penticton, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

The berth into the first round of the Nufloors Penticton Curling Classic playoffs earned Sturmay 9.000 world rankings points, remaining in 19th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of -10.156 after improving upon their best so far this season. Sturmay ranks 24th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 98.000 points earned so far this season.
