Advancing directly to the semifinals, Scheel won 7-2 over Delaney Strouse (Traverse City, MI) to advance to the championship game. of the 2023 Curl Mesabi Classic in Eveleth, Minnesota, United States;
 
Scheel finished 3-1 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Scheel defeated Christine McMakin (Minneapolis, MN) 8-2, then went on to lose 6-2 against Sarah Anderson (Minneapolis, MN). Scheel responded with a 9-3 win over Stephanie Senneker (Port Huron, MI). Scheel won 9-5 against Jodi Judd (Thunder Bay, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Curl Mesabi Classic, Scheel take home 11.000 world rankings points along with the $4,110CDN prize, moving up 25 spots the World Ranking Standings into 83rd place overall with 29.825 total points. Scheel ranks 76th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 19.250 points earned so far this season.
